My name's Ryan. I'm a DJ living in Austin, Texas. I spin deliciously filthy hard banging techno. You know, the kind that snaps your neck because you're bobbing your head too much. This page is a repository for

02/17 Just a small update on how things are going (well, music-wise anyway) in Shanghai. It's pretty fascinating to be in a city with this much electronic music. At least every weekend I have the opportunity to catch some good stuff. So far here I've seen DJ Marky, Logistics, Cyantific, and Shimon. As far as techno goes, I caught Sven Vath and Jason Hodges.
I've also interviewed DJ Siesta (a local drum and bass promoter), reviewed the Sven Vath show, and previewed a Void show, all for Shanghaiist. I also hope to spin a gig or two here before I leave. So all in all, things are kicking lots and lots of ass :-) |

11/15 Sooo, long time no update! Things here are going well, but things here won't be going at all come January! That's right, I'm moving. To where, you ask? I have accepted a position within my company at our office in Shanghai, China. Ridiculous! From a techno point of view though, I'm pretty excited. It's well-known that the US is a poor locaiton to be for dance music. For some reason, us Yanks don't seem to get it the way that Europeans and other countries do. I'm already looking forward to checking out places like Club BonBon and The Rojam.
I'll continue to post here every once in awhile, especially if I get any gigs out there! I'm excited to try handing out demo CDs in a foreign country and see what happens. Of course Shanghai has to be used to Western DJs coming through. Rocking the decks out there would be completely amazing.
